Full Members: To become a member, your company must be organized and based in North America (U.S., Canada, or Mexico) and actively engaged in the manufacture of heat exchange and vacuum apparatus. To be considered a manufacturer, the company must either own its own manufacutering facility or take responsibility for the manufacture of Institute scope products, including performing all required design and engineering of the product, being responsible to its customers for quality assurance, and fabricating the product or having it fabricated by subcontractors pursuant to a written agreement that reserves the company the foregoing responsibilities. In addition, the company must demonstrate to the satisfaction of each Section to which is has made application, that it has the current engineering capabilities and historical experience designing, manufacturing, and installing products to Institute Standards, to enable it to contribute to the technical work of the Section. Sections include: Associate Members: Tube manufacturers based in North America and actively engaged in North America for not less than one year as a manufacturer of tube materials used in the manufacture of HEI scope products. HEI holds two meetings each year, one in the spring and one in the fall. During the meeting, members of each Section gather to discuss industry and technical issues, as well as review the work of the Technical Committee. Each HEI section sponsors a technical committee which is charged with developing revising standards specific to its range of products. Each technical committee meets at least twice a year, with each section member designating an engineer as its representative on the Technical Committee; ongoing communication among committee members assures that the standards are based on the latest available technology. Knowledge Sharing - By joining HEI, you will have access to valuable technical information and the opportunity to exchange innovative solutions with your peers. You may participate in the development of the technical standards and educational materials that have made HEI the leading voice of the heat exchange industry worldwide. You can be a vital part of strengthening the value of HEI to its members and its audiences. Hands-On Learning - HEI semi-annual meetings provide members an opprotunity to network with their peers and learn from each other's experiences. The Institute's various technical committees contribute their extensive knowledge and expertise to developing technical bulletins, which address relevent heat exchange industry topics. Statistics and Surveys - The Institute's statistics program provides valuable, accurate, and useful information about the industry. Each member company submits a number of statistical reports, which are sent out quarterly.
